Recently I wanted to show a dear friend how much I appreciated the help she always offers with child care. All those little times add up, and even though we reciprocate that help, it never hurts to take the time to say Thank you. As my Mother still says.

I put my head in the stamp cupboard and came out with my absolute favourite stamp set, Elements of Style. I can't stop using the gorgeous flower stem stamp. The gift...a simple set of notecards that she was able to personalise at any occasion.

Materials Used: Close to Cocoa CS (Retired); Chocolate Chip CS; Very Vanilla CS; Old Olive Stamp Pad; Chocolate Chip Stamp Pad; So Saffron Stamp Pad; Aqua painter; Spritzer Tool.

Birthday Happiness

I love creating birthday cards, from children's cards to a special piece for a friend.

Birthday parties for me are the very fun things that remind me of my childhood. I still have the problem of hoarding every birthday card given to me, and now it has started with my children. They each have a "special box" that they keep in their room, to place all their cards. My husband thinks its all just junk and doesn't quite get it, but in time to come I know that they will look at them with fond thoughts.

I've wanted to try an easel card, and so perfect for children as they love the whole pop-up concept so after researching with you tube (gotta love it), this is what I came up with.

Materials Used: Make A Monster Stamp Set; Green Galore CS (Retired); Whisper White CS; Celebrations DSP; Pacific Point Stamp Pad; Real Red Stamp Pad; Scallop Edge Border Punch; Brights Designer Buttons.

Masterchefs!

So here is my beautiful girl who turned 6 this year. All she wanted was a Masterchef party!

Holly helped with her invitations which came out a treat using up some old cardstock and the good ol' Big Shot. We made mini envelopes and had all the party details inside. Some faux stitching and ribbon as ties made for an effective little look.

Here we go into the Land of blog! Hopefully I plan to keep this as a happening thing each week and see where to go from there. The idea is to keep you up to date with the going on's at stampnstitch, so you too can create and be inspired.

Wedding Bells.....

Recently I had the pleasure of designing invitations and matching placecards for a friends wedding. The brief was easy: they were to be simple and no tizz, no bling, or bows! Oh dear, no bows, hmmmm. So after much brainstorming with her sister in tow, we came to 1 decision classic black and white. Off I went to my little Nook (yes my craft space is small, but the view compensates) and the finished result made the cut! Pheww, on to the placecards. More often than not the cliche, less is more, is so right!

Recipe was easy with Basic Black, and Very Vanilla CS. Big Shot Embossing folders Vintage Wallpaper and Perfect Polka Dots with Basic Black 1/4" ribbon tied in a knot, no bows anywhere!

People have asked about the double embossing, all I did was put the folders end to end with the cut CS in them and ran it through, double whammy and saved time.
